what direction?

we live our lives with direction from many people. This direction is not always right. There are a lot of professors and teachers that teach of science (which can always be subject to change) and almost live by it like its truth. Many parts of this world are so unsettled and undetermined. We will never completely understand this world and our lives at full. There are millions of theories and probable reasons why things are the way they are but are they really fact. Mystery lies behind every corner whether we realize it or not. The meaning of life is very mysterious to me(you will find out if you have read my other blogs) Is school an absolute necessity to being a smarter person?... i tend to think not. I have found that many things i have learned in class are a science and are not an absolute fact. Most things I have learned are based on other people's theories. So therefore i have a somewhat empty feeling inside when i think about what is right and what is wrong. maybe i am crazy but the direction i have been given from others seem so remote to what i feel could be.

coma-vision

These are a few questions that to this point cannot be answered but are somethings that have been rummaging through my mind for years. Are we really seeing what we think we are? Could it be that we drift through our "lives" in what could actually be a deeper form of sleep. Maybe we are in a coma-like state that only ends when we "die". Maybe what we think we see and think we touch are actually just a similar form of a deep sleep. We are in a life long R.E.M. that gets so intense that we can actually imagine the objects so vividly that they become real enough to believe? Could it be that we are actually beings that do not really feel anything whatsoever? Are we just beings that imagine pain and imagine the feeling of touch as a fantasy. I have always been told that after death there is no more pain.

the look of life in different perspectives

We all live the same daily lives together but are we all living the same lives and look at our own in the same way as each other? Many people have many different religious beliefs that brighten their lives along with those that let their religions destroy them. We live in a world where everyone has their own opinion of what really is but the truth is only one of us can possibly be correct. Is anyone right or are we completely far away from even a remote idea? We have wars breaking out all because people believe their religions demand that they destroy. When the truth is they may ultimately be following a false religion in the first place. (not that they are) We tend to become what other things or people push us to be and keep the truth from ourselves unknowingly like a religious heritage. Some people live everyday with only hope that their "paradise" will someday be within reach for them. When once again, it may be only a false hope. We as human beings are absolutely terrified not knowing what will happen to us when we are gone. Mystery can often be a person's biggest nightmare. One thing that really comes to my mind quite often is the fact that there was something before us but where were we? Were we just a mass of nothing. This whole thought just blows my mind. I get completely caught up in a mass of thought and confusion. I think the thought about where we were before birth and where will we be after death is a deep and never ending conversation subject.

During the last Philosophy class I attended, there was a very interesting question erupting in the classroom. The question was " what makes a fact a fact?". Most people think of this as a simple solution with only one direct answer but I am convinced that there are many different possibilities for this answer. For example some may think that a fact is anything that they believe to be true, although it may ultimately be false. Some people might say that a fact is what is found ina nonfiction book or an encyclopedia. This to me is also a wrong way of looking at it. Subjects of science are spread throughout these books but science is a field of constant change. It never stays the same. The best way to describe a fact to me is anything that is proven true until proven false. This may sound confusing but if you take time to think about what I am saying , we never really know what is true for sure. There are many things that we are convinced are true but are they really?
